PAT Testing is the process of periodically testing your electrical appliances. It helps to ensure they are effectively maintained and safe for use within the appropriate environment, according to the manufacturers specification. It is a statutory requirement and many insurance companies require the insured to comply with all current regulations.
All electrical appliances that are fitted with a 3 pin domestic plug amongst others are required to be tested on a regular basis to ensure that they are safe for employees or the public to use. Failure to comply can result in prosecution and carries a maximum penalty of £5000 and up to 6 months imprisonment.
All electrical testing carried out by PTS Compliance is in full accordance with the IEE Code of Practise for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
Our engineers use only use the best and most up to date test equipment.
PTS Compliance only employs fully qualified electrical engineers. During our visit they may discover numerous faults within most workplaces so our engineers will replace damaged plugs free of any charges. Wiring the plug incorrectly or indeed dangerously can lead to serious injury of anyone coming into contact with either the plug or the appliance it is connected to and a wiring fault like this can easily cause fire and electrocution.
